to me
I know I'm not the only one who was inspired to get involved in
politics by Bradley Whitford's portrayal of Josh Lyman on "The West
Wing." That's why, if you're like me, you'll appreciate the urgent
message below that Bradley wanted to share with DFA members about the
Wisconsin governor's race. With Elizabeth Warren hitting the ground to
support Mary Burke and polls deadlocked at 47%, now is our time to
finally defeat Scott Walker. -- Jay Henderson, Campaign Manager
Theresa --
On "The West Wing," I was an expert in polling. You also might remember
me as a roguish, good-looking man who did a lot of fast-paced walking
and talking through the halls of the White House. Scott Walker's fast,
too -- at running from his record.
So, picture me saying this during one of those patented "West Wing" walk and talks:
Look, Theresa: We know Wisconsin isn't Scott Walker's priority -- he
puts partisan politics and special interests ahead of Wisconsinites like
you and me. Now polls are showing Mary Burke can defeat Scott Walker.
But the only way we can beat him is if you donate today.
[This is where I'd stop walking and pause for dramatic effect.]
Democracy for America has been there since the protests in Madison
exploded in 2011, rallying members across the country to join the cause
-- and then going all in on the Wisconsin recall elections. DFA knocked
on 247,496 doors, made 485,677 phone calls, and recruited more than
4,000 volunteers to defeat Scott Walker. Now, together, we have a chance
to finish the job.
Click here to donate $3, and let's get Scott Walker out of Madison once and for all.
You don't have to be the deputy chief of staff of the White House
(fictional or real) to understand what the polls are saying -- Mary
Burke can defeat Scott Walker if she gets enough help today.
That's why Walker and his Washington, DC friends have flooded the
airwaves with millions of dollars in disgusting attacks. They're trying
to stop our momentum, and we cannot let that happen.
This is it.
This is our moment to remove Scott Walker. For teachers, for the middle
class, and for everyone he's abandoned in Wisconsin.
Join with Democracy for America and me today, contribute, and let's win this.

Thank you for standing (and walking and talking) with me,
Bradley Whitford
