The Relationship between the Big Headed Mole Rat, and the Moorland Chat is not a unique one in nature. Being the main Prey of the Ethiopian Wolf, the Big Headed Mole rat needs as much help as it can get if it will survive. The big headed mole rat is the only species of mole rat that forages and eats above ground, and that makes it easy prey. As it forages it moves dirt and pushes is out it from inside it's Hole, and that's where the Moorland Chay comes in. The moorland chat searches for bugs and worms that are dug up by the mole rat.
I guess this helped create a comprise between them, because as the mole rat eats and churns up dirt, the moorland chat will watch for food and enemies. When an Ethiopian Wolf gets close the Moorland Chat let's out a warning call that alerts its friend the Big Headed Mole Rat, and sends him running to the safety of his hide away hole.

This is an amazing example of cooperation in the animal kingdom, and just an amazing thing to see!
